Membership
Membership of MGHG is open to academics, students, museum workers, archivists, librarians and all those with an interest in museum and gallery history.
Why join?
Membership of MGHG will include:
- a twice yearly newsletter bringing you news of relevant projects, publications, research and events
- priority booking and discounted rates to biennial conference and other events
- the opportunity to post information about your research on the MGHG website as part of our research register – the only internet resource dedicated to museum and gallery history
- when you join you will be issued with a membership number and password which can be used to access the members' only features of the MGHG website
Membership runs from the beginning of February of each calendar year; reminders will be sent for membership renewals in January.
Joining partway through a calendar year entitles you to both issues of that year’s newsletter, and instant access to the web based benefits listed above.
The MGHG undertakes not to make your details available to any third party.

The current annual membership rate is £10, with a discounted rate of £5 for registered students.
International members
We welcome members from overseas, and are able to take membership payment in US dollars and euros. Please see membership form for details.
Institutional membership
As of February 2007, MGHG accepts institutional members. Benefits for institutional members are: unlimited transferable conference discounts to staff members; unlimited access to research register (both to access and post details); unlimited circulation of newsletter to staff members.
The current annual membership rate for institutions is £35.
